Merrick + Associates is a HVAC and plumbing consulting and engineering firm based in San Diego that serves the entirety of Southern California. Founded in 1984, we have become one of the most recognized and trusted name in the region's industry.

Merrick + Associates' scope of work ranges from master planning, to cost estimating, to complete HVAC and plumbing design. We have extensive experience with new construction projects, modernization, and renovation. Through the years, Merrick + Associates has acquired the strong practical experience necessary to properly coordinate a project between designer, owner and contractor. Working with mechanical contractors has given us the insight to overcome many engineering misconceptions. Communication with field personnel is the key to resolving these problems and avoiding future conflicts. Every construction project requires a team approach, and the communication exchange that occurs between Merrick + Associates and the mechanical contractors, field personnel, architects, and owners is necessary and unique. Being able to foresee potential pitfalls is one of Merrick + Associates strongest qualities. Our service oriented design process is becoming a fresh new way to conduct mechanical engineering.

President
David Merrick, PE
David Merrick founded Merrick + Associates in March 1984, and has led the company ever since.
He received his engineering degree with an emphasis in mechanical systems from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo, and is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of California. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Appeals, a committee within the City of San Diego Building Inspection Department. David has also served as President and Energy Management Chairman of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, and served as President of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.
